In the era of new media, people mostly communicate virtually on online platforms, which has weakened college students’ oral expression ability in real-life settings. As a result, there is a considerable gap between college students’ language expression competence and social demands, posing obstacles to their all-round development. Starting with an investigation of the current situation, this paper analyzes the problems concerning language expression in the new media environment and puts forward targeted countermeasures.
