Generative AI in the Humanities: Methods, Applications, and Critical Perspectives

Overview
The rapid development of generative artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping research methodologies, interpretive practices, and modes of cultural production within the humanities. From text generation and translation to cultural analytics and creative experimentation, generative AI offers new possibilities for knowledge creation while simultaneously raising critical questions concerning authorship, originality, ethics, and epistemology. This Special Issue aims to bring together interdisciplinary contributions that examine both the methodological applications and the broader theoretical implications of generative AI in the humanities. By integrating perspectives from digital humanities, literary studies, history, philosophy, and related fields, the issue seeks to advance critical understanding of how generative AI is transforming humanistic inquiry in the digital age.
